SQW Lab: Play Projects x Jyoti Bhatt

To experiment is to play with ideas. To succeed is to play with failure. To create is to play with material. To make a decision is to play with options. To grow is to play with futures.

This edition of SQW Lab’s Play Projects is inspired by a collection of pages from Jyoti Bhatt’s diaries tracing an outline of the artist’s mind that absorbed various ideas, narratives, mediums and forms, alongside drawings, poems and literary references

With a free hand to interpret and create, the selection of pages from Bhatt’s diaries was made with a basis to create freely and widely. The instructions and description of the Play Projects are the first step of play.  The editors notes on the left side of the book are the first step of play. These are interpretations of the scanned images from Bhatt’s diaries that correspond to the Play Projects. The book encourages readers to look at themselves as creators, artists, writers and thinkers.
