These are the photographs of three sites. It is believed that Saju's ancestors escaped from North Malabar to the Central Kerala during the period of Tipu's battle march. So this is the place where they settled first. The location of the house is same, but in modern times some alterations has been made, however the main structure remains the same.
This work is an image of Saju's family shrine. There are many myths and stories connected to this shrine. The goddess of Kalari is among the deities and it is believed that Saju's ancestors carried it along while escaping. Also a popular family belief is that the tree which is there in the photo is the first tree they planted while settling in this place.
These sites are the repository of memories and stories also the sources of objects and materials. Saju has done brass inlay in this work, which divides the photograph in to several pieces. Even though the structures gives strong memories and emotions they are in disintegrated condition.
