Samit Das will be speaking at TARQ on Saturday, September 6th 2014 on Indian book art. His talk forms a part of the “Reading Room” curated by Amit Jain, & presented in collaboration with Blueprint12 (New Delhi) and Colombo Art Biennale (Sri Lanka).
Samit plans on sharing how historically, the art book has been a part of both the Indian and Western art cannon, and relating this history of books with his own book making practice. His talk begins with a series of three readings on book art, followed by an extensive visual presentation of lesser-known traditional forms of book art and a discussion with the audience.
