This work is a drawing of two stones that Garima picked up from the road side in 2016. She would pass this same road in 2014 when it was a 2 lane road through the dense rainforest, in 2016 this was being broadened as part of Trans-Papua Highway project. The highway in Manokwari connects the town to the Oil palm plantations. Mid-way this highway lies a part of the mountain which is known for its rich Bird of Paradise habitat. This was the first drawing in the series of observations around what in-roads through forest do to its habitats and communities. (From the fieldwork notebook, 2016)
