it started as Thing, then became Devi to Kali to Monster to Comet/ Falling star, to Leo to Rabbit back to Thing

Created during lockdown, Boshudhara Mukherjee’s works present the artist’s introspection of her sense of drawing closer to the lives around her, drawing sustenance and inspiration from them to conjure new beings in the form of her woven canvases. Here, Boshudhara continues her practice of shredding or revisiting painted canvases only to dismantle them, repurposing these to create new entities that take on an entirely original form.
