In this exhibition, Apnavi Makanji's work echoes how nature remembers and documents time and engagement. Apnavi's wider art practice redefines nature as the centre stage of our existence emphasizing on the processes of life and death and making visible the marginalized, the unnoticed, the forgotten and the hidden.
In a sense, nature is reacting to or healing from the impact of human existence. In this series, Apnavi presents their work as an an installation that uses site specific soil as their core medium. Apnavi uses watercolour in tandem with the soil, and explores ideas of memory and home, with a broader horizon that touches migration, identity and human constructs of nature.
